Feel the Ball

Bring every fan into the action. Feel the Ball lets vision- and hearing-impaired spectators feel the spatial, dynamic motion of the ball, in real time.

The impact

Feel the game as it happens

Feel the Ball moves sports accessibility past captions and audio to real spatial immersion, letting vision- and hearing-impaired fans experience the flow of live play in real time.

The gap

Captions and audio describe a game. They don't let you feel it.

For vision- and hearing-impaired fans, the spatial drama of live sport, the arc of a shot, the speed of a break, the near-miss at the buzzer, is flattened into second-hand description. The moment-to-moment tension that makes sport thrilling simply doesn't come through.

Prototype

See it working

A working prototype tracks small, fast ball motion from broadcast video and renders it as dynamic force through a joystick.
