For blind, low-vision, and nonspeaking community members

Help us build assistive AI that actually works for you

Nothing about you, without you. We're inviting blind, low-vision, and nonspeaking (AAC and ALS) volunteers to try our tools, tell us what breaks, and shape what gets built next. Your lived experience is the most important part of our process.

Why volunteer

You have a direct hand in what we build

Assistive technology too often gets designed for disabled people instead of with them. We work the other way around. Every session you join feeds straight into what we fix, change, and prioritize, so the tools that reach the world are shaped by the people who actually use them.

What's involved

Simple, guided, and on your terms

A session is a relaxed, guided conversation while you try a task with one of our tools. No preparation, no technical knowledge, and no right or wrong answers: we're testing our product, never you.

  • You try a real task: for example, reaching for an object with EnAct, or communicating with Just Look, while we listen and take notes.
  • You think out loud: tell us what's confusing, what's helpful, and what you'd change. Blunt feedback is the most valuable kind.
  • You stay in control: take breaks, skip anything, or stop at any point, for any reason, with no questions asked.
  • We follow up: a short thank-you, your compensation, and an optional invite to future sessions if you'd like to stay involved.
Who we're looking for

You're a fit if…

You are blind or low-vision

Any level of vision, any age (18+), any amount of tech experience, including none at all.

You have ALS or use AAC

If you communicate with a gaze keyboard or other AAC, or are living with ALS, we'd love your help testing Just Look.

You use assistive tech, or don't

Screen reader, cane, guide dog, eye-tracker, or nothing yet. We want the full range of experience.

You're willing to be candid

The most useful volunteers tell us what's wrong. Comfort with honest feedback is all we ask.

Our commitment to you

Accessible, respectful, and private

  • Fully accessible sessions: screen-reader-friendly materials, flexible pacing, and any accommodation you need. Just tell us.
  • Paid for your time: every participant is compensated, whether or not the session runs smoothly.
  • Your privacy protected: findings are de-identified, recordings are optional and consent-based, and your data is never sold.
  • No pressure, ever: signing up is not a commitment. Withdraw at any time, and it will never affect anything.

Sessions can run in the format that works best for you: a video or phone call from home, or in person if you'd prefer. If you use an interpreter, support person, or specific software, they're welcome and we'll plan around them.
